Week 2 – Creating Safe & Supportive Learning Environments
Pupils learn best when they feel safe, secure and that they belong. A positive classroom climate is created through consistent routines, respectful relationships and an environment where every child feels seen, heard and valued. In this session, we'll explore how small, intentional actions can foster psychological safety, encourage participation and build a classroom culture in which pupils feel confident to take risks, make mistakes and engage fully in their learning.

Week 3 – The Role of Praise and Recognition
Praise is most effective when it is genuine, specific and focused on effort, progress and positive behaviours rather than simply outcomes. Used thoughtfully, recognition can strengthen motivation, reinforce expectations and help pupils develop confidence and a positive sense of themselves as learners. In this session, we'll explore how purposeful praise can shape classroom culture, build strong relationships and encourage the behaviours that support successful learning.

Week 4 – Growth Mindset and Resilience in the Classroom
Learning is rarely straightforward, and pupils need the confidence to embrace challenge, learn from mistakes and persevere when learning becomes difficult. By fostering a growth mindset alongside supportive classroom practices, adults can help pupils develop resilience, independence and a belief that their abilities can grow through effort and effective strategies. In this session, we'll explore practical ways to encourage perseverance, celebrate progress and create a classroom culture where mistakes are viewed as valuable opportunities for learning.

Week 5 – Promoting Peer Support and Collaborative Learning
Learning is enhanced when pupils have opportunities to think, discuss and solve problems together. In this session, we'll explore practical strategies for promoting purposeful peer support and collaborative learning, helping pupils learn with and from one another while maintaining high expectations and active engagement.

Week 6 – Reflecting on Whole-Class Ethos
A positive classroom ethos is built over time through consistent expectations, strong relationships and a shared commitment to respect, inclusion and learning. Every interaction, routine and response contributes to the culture that pupils experience each day. In this final session, we'll reflect on the key principles explored throughout the series and consider how small, consistent actions can strengthen classroom climate, foster a sense of belonging and create an environment where every pupil feels valued, supported and able to succeed.
